Care and Cleaning
Here are a few suggestions to keep your rolling pin in tip top shape:
Hand wash in hot soapy water, never put wood rolling pins in a dishwasher.
Do not let the rolling pin soak in water for prolonged periods of time. That doesn’t mean that you have to baby it though. Throughly submerging it while washing is fine.
When your rolling pin starts to look dry we recommend a liberal coating of Howard’s Butcher Block Conditioner. For the best results let the conditioner soak in over night before wiping excess oil off with a soft cotton cloth. This allows the mineral oil in the conditioner to penetrate deep into the wood. The bees wax in the conditioner will be left on the surface and will add a nice water resistant sheen to your rolling pin.
Depending on your cooking style, after a few applications of conditioner your kitchenware will become seasoned and it will become longer and longer between applications.
